2024 Tata Curvv Diesel Engine Specs And Mileage Revealed
The 2024 Curvv gets 2 turbo petrol and 1 diesel engine option. Tata are offering all 3 engines with 2 transmission options – a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT. While the carmaker revealed the specs, like the power and torque figures, of all engine options, they only revealed the mileage figure for the Curvv diesel. However, Tata did not specify if the stated mileage figure was for the Curvv diesel-manual or diesel-automatic. But considering the fact that engines paired with manual transmissions generally perform better than their automatic transmission-equipped counterparts in the ARAI mileage tests, we believe the mileage figure revealed by Tata is for the Curvv diesel-manual variants.

According to the mileage figure revealed by Tata, the Curvv diesel is the most fuel efficient diesel SUV in the segment. Interestingly, the Tata Curvv is the only diesel C-SUV to come with a dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT). The Creta is offered with a 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic. The Seltos, which shares the same diesel engine as Creta, is offered with a 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter, and a 6-speed auto-clutch manual transmission (ACMT).

The Tata Curvv’s 1.2L turbo petrol MPFI petrol engine, which is borrowed from the Nexon, produces 120PS of power and 170Nm of torque. The brand-new 1.2L turbo petrol engine with direct injection produces 5PS more power and 55Nm more torque than the older MPFI engine. The Curvv diesel puts out 115PS of power and 260Nm of torque, which is identical to the Nexon 2024.
