The winners of the inaugural AFAA Brilliance Awards will receive their trophies at an online event on 28th October 2024. The awards, organised by the Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA), celebrate hard-working advertising that builds great brands, with top entries judged by an elite Pan Asian jury.
Srinivasan Swamy, chairman of AFAA, announced, “The Brilliance Awards are for hard working advertising that truly builds great brands. The response to the inaugural edition has been very good. We received some 72 entries from across Asia for the ten categories that were selected as per highest advertising spends. These were judged by an elite Pan Asian jury of senior advertisers who have themselves contributed to building brands across geographies. The online presentation, a first of its kind for AFAA should have an audience representative of this diverse continent.”
The awards recognise exceptional work across the top 10 advertised categories in Asia. These categories include Automotive & Accessories; Banking, Insurance & Finance; Consumer Durables & Electronics; Food & Beverages; E-commerce & Online Services; Fashion & Personal Care; Pharma, Hygiene & Wellness; Real Estate & Furnishing; Telecom & Technology; and Travel, Tourism & Hospitality. The entries were nominated by advertising agencies and brands within the industry.
Real work in advertising is based on an elaborate client brief and released through a carefully crafted media plan. The AFAA Brilliance Awards were established to highlight such work, showcasing brilliance in advertising across Asia.
The Pan Asian jury for the event included notable names like Ajay Kakar from Adani Group, India; Jae-Yul Sun, Team Leader of Digital Content Team at KT Corp (Korea Telecom), Korea; Cindy Lin, Executive Co-Director of Sustainability & Corporate Communications Division at Fubon Financial Holdings, Taiwan; and Aly Mustansir, Brand Consultant and Trainer, Pakistan.
With 72 entries received for this inaugural edition, the industry has shown significant interest in recognizing top-tier advertising that builds brands. The online event on 28th October 2024 promises to be a notable occasion, bringing together a diverse audience from across the continent.
